Our class novel this term...
This term we are using the novel The Stolen Spear by Saviour Pirotta as a 'hook' for our learning. We have been very lucky to be able to interview Saviour this week on Teams. We prepared our own questions and found out lots about his writing and life. We asked him if he was to write a new book what would it be about? He said it would feature children on a carousel at the fair and then their horse would come alive as Pegasus and take them on an adventure. We might beat Saviour to writing this as in Free Write this week we wrote our own version of this idea and are going to send them to Saviour for him to read! A real purpose to our writing and a great audience for a well known author to read our work!

This term we are looking at Network systems. This week we went on a digital hunt around school to find the server, router and digital devices. We then used a ball of string in the classroom to show how they all connect!
PE
This term we are doing lots of problem solving in our Outdoor & Adventure topic. This week have been drawing maps of the playground using a bird's eye view. We did really well!
We are also having great fun learning the skills for playing Dodgeball - lots of dodging, throwing with accuracy and team effort!

The Creakers by Tom Fletcher
We have absolutely loved our novel last term 'The Creakers' and would like to share some of our work with you.
'A day in Whiffington' - the grown-ups went and the children of Whiffington made such a mess in our room - but we LOVED it!
We enjoyed listening to Tom Fletcher's music and songs that have been written to go along with the musical of The Creakers.
This term we will be taking a look into all things dragon-y with our new novel ..........
Science
This term we are looking at SKELETONS with our topic 'How can we classify animals based on their skeleton?' We'll let you know how we are getting on soon.
