On the morning of Wednesday 11th October, children who arrive at school having either walked to school from home, scooted or cycled, will be offered breakfast on the playground.
This initiative is to support our Travel Plan objective of increasing the number of children who journey to school using sustainable transport.
Whilst we appreciate that this is not possible for all of our families, we hope that you will be able to support us on the 11th October.
If you have any questions, please let Mr Richardson know.

The Friends of the School would like to update you with information on several events.
Firstly, your child should come home with a letter today regarding free Stikins name labels. Without a returned form, we are not able to order your child's free sample labels. Please return this by Thursday 21st September.
We are hosting a Free Family Fun session on Friday 22nd September, from 3.30pm until 5.00pm on the school field. There will be free refreshments, bouncy castle and games. Preloved uniform will also be available for voluntary donations.
We would also like to remind everyone about our AGM on Wednesday 27th September at 7.30pm in the Victorian Classroom. Everyone is welcome.
The Christmas Wreath Workshop is now on TUESDAY 28TH NOVEMBER. We only have 10 places left.
If you need any more detail on any of these events please email southhykehamfos@gmail.com or speak to Sophie Yelland or Natalie White on the playground.
Children return to school on Wednesday 6th September.
Change of Opening Times: A reminder that our opening times will change from September 2023. We will collect children from the playground at 8.50 a.m. as we do currently, but our official start to the day will now be 8.55 a.m. rather than 9.00 a.m. In the afternoon, we will finish at 3.25 p.m. rather than 3.15 p.m. as we do currently.
If your child is going to be absent from school or late arriving at school, please ring us before 9.00 a.m. to leave a message on our telephone answer machine to explain the absence. This ensures that the correct absence codes are noted on our class registers.
P.E. Kit: Children will need to bring their PE kits into school this week. PE kits should be in school every day and then they can be taken home on a Friday afternoon for washing.
Behaviour Policy: Please click on the link below to view our Behaviour Policy - this is also available on our school website -
We look forward to seeing you again on Wednesday morning.
As we approach the end of term we wanted to share our fundraising totals with you!
With your support the Friends of the School have raised over £4800 this school year!
Every ice pole, coffee and cake bought, every disco or film club attended, every sponge thrown at Mr Richardson at the Summer Fayre, has helped us reach this amazing total.....so thank you. 👏👏👏
We are happy to be donating over £2000 towards the new Library refurbishment to be completed early next term. 📚
Thank you for your support.
